In the studio...

I need a ticket for any date, please, help me!

I'm planning on traveling to Dublin next week from Athens, Georgia, USA to be a part of the REM experience at the Olympia. It will be my first trip off of the North American continent in over 30 years! Needless to say I am very pleased to have the opportunity to see the band in so intimate a setting, and in a city and country that has been on my dream list of travel destinations for most of my adult life. My traveling companions and I will be attending the show on Sunday, July 1st and we are looking forward to having one of the very best times of our lives!

All I can say is you're all very, very welcome to Dublin. The city is a real happening spot. It's always busy, every night of the week, especially during the summer. There are a lot of cool pubs, venues and clubs to visit. A personal favourite is Whelans on Wexford St (about 10 mins walk from the Olympia). It's a pub/venue/nightclub. Fairly small but great music and craic. The Village, also on Wexford St can be good as well. There are plenty of places around the Olmypia also. These places will be packed for the gigs. Haven't got a ticket yet, but I'm going to get one, at any price. Missed Neil Young in a few years ago in Vicar St(another small Dublin venue) cos tickets were selling for too much, but regretted it. It won't happen this time. My favourite band in my favourite venue in the world.

I coming to Dublin for the Saturday night concert with my son who is nearly 14 and has inherited my love of REM. As we are arriving Saturday lunch time and not leaving until late Sunday afternoon does anybody have any suggestions for must see Dublin sights or experiences? Thanks

If anybody needs to sell a ticket for Sat. 30th June, please email me at brianlord@ntlworld.com,

- a gutted REM fan who found out about the rehersals to late in the day...

Hi David,
I just wanted to let you know that Hassan will be bringing the girls to Dublin this week to see the band. If you're there PLEASE say hi to them and have a great time!
Heather

Hi,
Anyone looking for a place to stay for the R.E.M rehersals, I would definitely recommend Kinlay House Hostel, it's only 2 minutes walk from the Olympia, great atmosphere and you get to meet loads of fun people. Staff will give you all the info of the best spots in town.
Check it out www.kinlaydublin.ie

i read somewhere on murmurs that fanclub members get a wristband for...?
can anyone confirm?
I bought my ticket as soon as i received the fanclub alert, but i don't think i used any special fanclub code or anything...

can anyone help?

I used my fanclub code and got no wrist band!!

There are no wristbands...

Most of those attending are Fanclub members anyway :)

@nton

but was not positive...
thanks

How did you get a fanclub code? I'm a fan club member and didn't realise there was a code to put in. I just got what tickets I could. Did fan club members get a deal of some sort?

No just the membership code I meant sorry.

Gutted I didn't find out about this sooner...

I'm a huge REM fan, those of you who are going July 1st are in for a treat as Simple Kid is simply awesome!

Credit to Mike, Michael and Peter, they always know how to pick good support bands! :)

Hi All

I'm looking for 1 or 2 tickets for any night! Am a huge REM fan and can't imagine not being there. May have to resort to ebay and give in to those annoying touts but hopefully some genuine fan out there can help me.Thanking you in advance.

Hi All,

I am desperately looking for two tickets for any night. I must have been nightsleeping/daysleeping when they went on sale and am rageing about it. Is there anybody out there who can help a real fan get hold of a ticket. Never missed a gig yet and not sure what else I can say except that I am gutted.

Fiona -
