Jacknife Lee
Garret Lee, aka Jacknife Lee, is currently producing R.E.M.'s next record. The band and Jacknife completed a three-week session at The Armoury in Vancouver, BC, back in May and have now settled in at Grouse Lodge in Ireland to work on more tracks, many of which will likely be debuted at the Olympia. "There is no model for R.E.M.," said Lee in an earlier interview. "Consistently one of the Great Bands, if not the greatest. They push themselves further than most, doing every time what is the goal for any artist--explore. These new songs are some their most exciting and visceral yet."
On previous efforts, Jacknife has worked with U2, Snow Patrol, Aqualung, Kasabian, Bloc Party, and The Editors. He has won two Grammys for his production work and is also an accomplished musician and remixer (Beck, Badly Drawn Boy). Lee has released four solo records, and if you visit Jacknife's myspace.com page, you can listen to tracks from his latest.
