Dublin on my mind
By ethank - Posted on June 12th, 2007
I'm about ready to start booking my travel to Dublin for the entire week. This will be an interesting trip, as its the first time I've really "worked" REM rather than just gone as a fan. There are a lot of things planned, some ambitious, some not, so we'll see how it all transpires. It should be a fun time though.

I am looking forward to the two shows I will see. This band has grown up with me since I first heard them when I was 21 in 1983. Even with the show on the 3rd being the day my divorce becomes final I will soldier on and continue to evolve and adapt. I have seen and met many varied and unique people whom have adopted REM as their own (as have I) and expect to see and hopefully meet many of them in Dublin. This will be my first trip to Ireland and I am coming from Bellingham, Washington USA
I hope they perform PILGRIMAGE!
Cheers to all.
It does seem like we've all grown up together...so there's no way I can devise a dream setlist of only 10-12 songs. I first saw REM in 1982(ish) and have been a fast fan since. It will be incredible to enjoy this show with such a fabulous group of fans. I'm traveling in from Memphis, Tennessee for the shows on the 3rd & 4th and it's my first trip to Irelend, too. Yeay for you for countering what could be an "icky" day with a trip that should prove to be a memorable week...and there's bound to be an approiate song to mark the transition :)
Safe travels!!
Good to know that Memphis will be represented. Such a great and historic place with the friendliest people.
Safe travels too.
See you at the show!
I wish all of you in Dublin great, exciting, amazing, unforgettable times with the best band in the world!!
Hope for lots of exciting reports on how it was....
Yours, Ilona
