Dublin final night pics, vids, thoughts

Excellent, excellent stuff. Flew over on Thursday morning, met some Murmurs folk queueing to make their standing tickets count, wondered off, wondered back and saw a special, unique performance.
The new songs are strong, fresh and driving.
Geeked out at a nearby unofficial R.E.M. aftershow party (every other track an R.E.M. track, plus videos) - much singing and Guinness with Julia, Tim, Amanita, Dave and Stephanie. A pleasure to hang out with you guys - I had such a good time.
I am still in awe of the 'this is not a show' show. The new songs are awesome. I can not wait to hear the new album. I had a perfect view of the band. I was just behind the first barrier behind the pit. The old songs that they played were real 'olive branches'. I will never forget my experience. Thank you R.E.M. and thanks to the fans who made the atmosphere inside the olympia electric.
The only downer, was the tool in the crowd who spoiled the punch line of Michael Stipe's joke. The dude kept shouting out stuff when Michael was talking as well. real annoying.
I had that on my night too. effing Yanks. No wonder they are ashamed of their own...

thanks for photos and videos. I'm uploading mine as we speak, but it takes ages. I really had a great time with you guys. The gig exceeded all my expectations, the new songs are fantastic and the new album will be awesome!
I really had a good time even standing in the queue and talking to so many nice people. My day couldnt get any better when I met Michael before he went to the soundcheck. I will try to upload the photo soon. *still beaming!*
Thanks also to Chris and Mark (? I hope I got the names right) who kept a space for me while I was off to the toilet.
The aftershow party was a lot of fun as well thanks to Julie, Tim, David, Stephanie and Robert!
